The Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA)
Serving the Columbus metropolitan area, COTA was seeking to improve operational efficiency with stable, secure communication between vehicles and office systems. To achieve these goals while saving time and costs with a simple deployment, the agency turned to Cisco solutions including Cisco Catalyst rugged Series router, Cisco Catalyst access point; Cisco Industrial Ethernet switches; and Cisco Ultra-Reliable Wireless Backhaul. The result: COTA delivered better customer experience with reliable 5G internet, secured remote access for fixes and tracking, enabled easy modular expansion with enhanced security features. It also laid the foundation for future integration with smart city and smart transit technology
“
We believe that innovation in transit technology is a key factor in supporting the growth of the Central Ohio region.”
